About Green Valley State Park

The 390-hectare Green Valley Lake attracts hundreds of visitors on hot summer days, but is also a hub for a variety of other outdoor activities. It offers hiking, biking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and other activities for children and adults, as well as a picnic area for families.

The rustic pine cottages give visitors a pioneering spirit, and each has electricity, a covered porch and simple furnishings.

The cottages are located near campsites and can be booked free of charge at 1 - 877 - IAPARKs.

Every hut user can use a shower and toilet, but visitors must bring their own, and each hut is located within a campsite.

Near each campsite there is a playground and picnic area with picnic tables, picnic tables and picnic chairs and a fountain. Half of the campsites are still open for reservations according to the motto "first come, first served" so make a reservation before you leave.

Green Valley Lake is used for all types of boat trips and there are no special rules for water skiing for safety reasons. Water skiing is permitted in designated areas, but not on the lake itself or in the park itself.

All water skiers, including those using surfboard equipment, must wear life jackets. All other boats must remain within the general traffic pattern of the ship and cannot operate unless they are in contact with other ships such as boats, cars, trucks or other vehicles.

All boats must travel at speeds of more than five miles per hour and maintain a watch speed even in the ski resort. All boats must not travel at speeds exceeding four miles per hour in the water, except in contact with other boats or vehicles.

A self-guided nature trail and a multi-purpose trail, many of which run along the lake, offer visitors the opportunity to explore the 990 hectare park and enjoy its flora and fauna. Green Valley is a popular picnic spot for families, and open shelters can be reserved at the park office for a fee. The lakes are easily accessible by a two-lane asphalt road from the park's parking lot to a parking garage on the south side of the road.
