About Holland State Park

Lake Macatawa campsite is a traditional campsite with 211 pitches and the only one of its kind in the entire park. The Beach Campground is located in the middle of the sand dunes and there are 50 beaches, all within 50 'of the beach. There are two other campsites, one on the west side of the beach and the other at the north end.

This fully accessible camper cabin has an outdoor deck that extends the cabin's living space into beautiful surroundings. It can accommodate up to six people and has access to the beach, a picnic table, barbecue and a fire. In the hut, visitors will find picnic tables, barbecues and fire, and since huts are available all year round, campers can be inspired.

The park was acquired by the city of Holland in December 1926 and since then the great beach and excellent campsites have been used extensively. Kayaks, canoes and pedal boats are available for hire, and Westshore Concessions offers a selection of food, beach items and souvenirs, while the Beach House serves as a hideout. For further information call 616 - 399 - 2939 or call 11 00 on weekdays from 9 am to 5 pm.

The shores of Lake Michigan offer excellent access to Lake Macatawa, the largest lake in the state of Michigan. The jetty is located one mile east of the park and provides access from the canal to Lake Macatawas and Lake Michigan. Although there is no access point to this park, access to both Lake and Lake Michigan can be made along the shores of the north shore.

The jetties on the north side of the canal offer excellent places for offshore fishing and the waters offer a wide range of fishing opportunities for anglers. There are charter boat services that bring people to and from Lake Michigan, as well as boat rentals.

Metal detection is recognized as a legitimate recreational activity that is performed in a manner that does not violate or violate any applicable state laws. All items found must be checked by park staff and stored for further investigation.
