About Lewis and Clark State Park

Lewis and Clark State Park is a 621-acre camping park in Clark County, Washington, USA, north of the city of Clark in Washington state.

The caves were formed in the area by the formation of lava from Mount Rainier. The caverns are currently used for storing natural gas and are home to a wide range of animal species as well as a range of other natural resources.

Lewis and Clark State Park, which is actually separated from the Lewis & Clark Trail, began public storage of cars and tourists in 1922. Two years later, more than 10,000 people visited the park, and in 1922 it was opened to the public for the first time.

The old northern foothills of the Oregon Trail, which stretched from a landing on the Cowlitz River to the town of Tumwater, led directly into the present park grounds. When the pioneers used the road, the ramps had to be built over fallen logs so that the saws could cut down the giants. The park has the last old - growing forest of this kind remaining along the highway, and half of all old trees along the highway have been felled.

The John R. Jackson House nearby is the first American pioneer house to be built north of the Columbia River. The man after whom it is named was built in 1845 and it is the oldest house in the park and the only one that still exists.

The ELC has a wood-burning stove, fireplace and an outdoor dining area. The lodge sleeps 24 and can accommodate up to 10 guests with a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, shower and bathroom. Prices vary depending on group size, but there are at least $1,000 for one night and $2,500 for two nights.

For reservations, please call the ELC office at 360 - 902 - 8600 or call our Washington, D.C. office at (860) 856 - 7500. Choosing a premium campsite in the park can charge a $1,000 fee for one night or $2,500 for two nights. An additional $1 per night is added to the fee for the heavily used parks listed below. Please note that the following general fee information does not apply to all parks and not to all parks. Thus, the fees for primitive campsites and landfills only apply to parks that have them.

If a recreational vehicle is pulled by a second vehicle, you will be charged $10 per night for the second vehicle. Extra vehicles must be parked at a designated campsite with an additional parking space for each additional vehicle.

When you camp, this fee is included in your camping fee as part of your annual camping permit for Lewis and Clark State Park camping.

In summer, you can stay in the park for up to ten consecutive days or you can extend your stay as long as you like with a camping permit. Check-in is at 14: 30, check-out is at 13: 00, and the quiet hours are 22: 00 - 06: 30. The park has a maximum length of 60 feet per site, possibly due to limited availability.

Two-group camps can be booked for $5 per person or $10 per group for a total of four campsites, and prices vary depending on the size of the group. The campsite is served first and the price varies according to size and group, with the largest group camping at $1,000 per day and the smallest group camping at $500 per week.

The park offers two electricity shelters, one of which is catered for first, while the other can be reserved at 360 - 864 - 2643. Each camp has a capacity of 50 people and has running water, picnic tables, a fireplace and a picnic table, as well as an outdoor shower and toilet.

Drive approximately two miles from the entrance to the park and travel east on the highway and turn right onto Jackson Highway. Take Exit 68, go south, turn left onto Lewis and Clark State Park Road and continue until you are at the intersection of Jackson and Lewis State Parks Road. Head south on Jackson State Highway and take Exit 68 to Lewis - Clark State Park, approximately two miles south.
