About Living Desert State Park
Living Desert State Park is a living museum that shows the history of the Arizona desert and its inhabitants, from the earliest settlers to the present day. On a self-guided tour, visitors will discover the contrast between conifers and junipers and the natural beauty of the desert landscape.
Passing visitors can also see mountain lion cats perched on rocky outcrops and gazing into the vegetation. Guided tours of the aviary will allow you to observe a variety of birds, reptiles, mammals, birds of prey, reptiles and amphibians. The park also houses the Arizona State Museum of Natural History, an Arizona museum of history and culture.
A visit to the Living Desert is not possible without a stop in the greenhouse, but one of the most important highlights of the park is the endangered Mexican wolf. Never Cry Wolf, "Living Desert has participated in the exchange of wolves with other zoological institutions to ensure the survival of the wolf.
Hundreds of juicy cacti from all over the world are on display in the greenhouses of the Living Desert State Park. A small barrel of cacti and a majestic aguaro stand between the plants.
Many of these cacti are also available in gift shops, and many of them are available in the Living Desert State Park Gift Shop. The vibrant desert state park with its greenhouses is located on the east side of the park, near the intersection of Interstate 10 and Interstate 15.
