About Falls Lake State Park

Hours of relaxation await you in the Falls Lake State Recreation Area, and it's a great way to escape from urban life and relax.

Fishing, boating and swimming are just some of the activities you can expect on the water, but you will discover a variety of other activities in Falls Lake State Park. In the countryside, we can hike parts of the mountain and lake routes of our state and you will enjoy the scenic views of the Vernon, the Great Lakes and the Atlantic Ocean from the waterfalls.

The Falls Lake Project was developed by the US Army Corps of Engineers to control harmful flooding and provide water to surrounding communities. In 1978, a flood of the Neuse caused damage to public and private property, including a number of homes, shops, schools and other public buildings. Construction of the dam began in 1978 and was completed in 1981, followed by the construction of a dam in 1984 and the completion of an additional dam and reservoir in 1987.

In addition to recreational activities, Falls Lake now offers a variety of activities for adults and children, including swimming, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, hiking, camping and hiking. Sandling Beach and Rolling View in Beaverdam offer swimming facilities with changing rooms and picnic tables, as well as a picnic area. Holly Point offers swimming for campers only, but children are equipped with personal swimming equipment when they are in the water.

B.W. Wells and Holly Point offer similar services, but only for campers, and both have boat moorings. In Beaverdam only boats with petrol engines are allowed; in B. W. Wells a similar service is offered, but only for campers.

Sandling Beach offers a beach where non-motorized boats can start, but paddlers must carry canoes from the beach to the water. The leisure area offers picnic areas, barbecues and outdoor tables; private concessions such as a picnic table and picnic tables are offered. A private concession, the Beaverdam Beach Club, is offered on the west side of the park, south of Holly Point.

The use of the picnic basket is free of charge, but if you come first, a fee is charged for reservations at the shelter. Sandling Beach, Rolling View and Beaverdam have picnic areas, barbecues, picnic tables and outdoor tables; drinking water is nearby. Highway 50 offers beach access and picnic area, as well as a picnic table and barbecue area.

The Falls Lake Trail will eventually cross the entire southern shore of the lake, and part of the route will lead to the state park, where state parking regulations apply. Part of this mountain-to-sea route will connect the two recreational areas and provide a backpacker camp. The rest, the trail, leads from the park's main parking lot to the hiking trail on the south side of Falls Lake.

A sand roll allows a close view of the water world and leads to an in-house scientific interpretation area. Wear bright orange for security and hunting season and bright orange for security of hunting season.

The park is located in the Beaverdam area and offers a wide range of trails and trails for mountain bikers, hikers and snowshoers. From the parking lot to the top of the mountain there is also an open mountain bike trail, which is open to all mountain bikes.

The Falls Lake State Recreation Complex, which consists of seven individual parks, is located in the Beaverdam area, south of the town of Beaver Dam, Pennsylvania, USA. In wet weather, the trail is closed to all vehicles, but open to hikers, mountain bikers and snowshoe hikers.
