It is a place where those of us who are tired of the hectic schedule, the clatter of phones and the life of bees can find peace, where we can look at life through the lens of nature, carefully cared for and carefully designed. On Sundays, mothers take their babies there, fathers who teach their sons how to fish, teenagers who want to go away a little bit, couples who camp at the weekend, grandparents who just want the chance to leave everything alone during the week, parents and children with their own children.

The Prineville reservoir is formed by the Crooked River, a river bordered by its gorge and Bowman Dam. Mountain water flows from the Ochoco Mountains and merges with the Crooked River, which flows into the reservoir and runs through the river's gorge.

The Prineville reservoir is always a good place to fish and provide a variety of fish such as perch, trout and whitefish. When winter is over, you can also fish for trout, and ice fishing in summer.

Perch, catfish and cappie are better suited to warm water temperatures from May to October, but it is possible anywhere in the reservoir. It is known for producing some of the best fish and is the best bed for good fly fishing as well as a good source of trout and whitefish.
