About Silver Falls State Park

Nestled in the low elevations of Oregon's Cascade Mountains is a temperate rainforest, home to Silver Falls State Park, home to the largest waterfall in the world. Acrobat needs a map to view it, but there are also stalls selling Douglas fir, hemlock and cedar. Gorges, paths and waterfalls lead to a forest floor covered with ferns, mosses and wild flowers.

The Canyon Trail is a nationally recognized trail system that leads hikers to Silver Falls State Park, home to the largest waterfall in the United States. Take 10 majestic waterfalls, ranging from the great South Falls (177 feet) to the delicate Drake Falls (27 feet). Each of the four waterfalls has an environment in which you can walk around the waterfall and feel the misty, crisp spray.

Please observe all notices of closures of hiking trails and stay on marked trails or designated day trails. Please use this area at any time and observe instructions on how to block a hiking trail or parking lot.

Guided rides for people of all abilities are possible as well as guided bike tours and guided rides.

In Silver Falls there are campsites for overnight stays at the falls, but the prices are listed below.
The Silver Falls Conference Center offers a variety of accommodations, including hotels, motels, cabins and campsites.

Please call 873-3890 for more information on special arrangements or contact Silver Falls State Park for information. Always keep your pet on a leash that is no longer than 6 feet and always in a safe place. You must be able to physically hold and control the animal. You should control it with a harness, leash, collar or other type of harness or leash. Your pet must be able to respond to your commands and not harm you or others.

Bicycles, skateboards, inline skates and pets are not allowed on the narrow canyon trails lined with steep slopes. The park has a number of paths that attract horses, so make sure you always accompany your pet to a campsite or picnic area. A Mutt Mitt dispenser is conveniently located in the park, as well as a dog leash and a leash holder.
