About Willamette Mission State Park

Willamette Mission is a national park in Oregon State, about 30 miles west of Portland, Oregon.

The park is located on the site where Reverend Jason Lee founded the first mission for American Indians in 1834. Members of the Methodist Mission later became active in forming government in Oregon.

The original mission building is represented by a framed outline in the park called the ghost structure. In the parks there are monuments that inform about the settlement, such as the Willamette Mission Monument, the Mission House and the Old Mission Building.

The park offers boaters, anglers and other users many opportunities throughout the day. The park is the site of the first covered wagon crossing the Willamette River in 1844.

Willamette Mission is home to 1,680 acres of fibertus and walnut plantations, and there are a number of flowers, plants and trees around the river and its tributaries, as well as a variety of wildlife. The park houses a large collection of trees and shrubs, many of which have been in existence for more than 250 years.

Willamette Mission State Park is perfect for your next picnic, and excellent picnic options are reserved for large groups. For water lovers, Mission Lake and the Willamettes River are two of the best waterfalls in the state and a great place to be with family, friends and family on a hot summer day.

In the park, you can even rent a large charcoal grill measuring 4 x 3 cm for $5 per person or $10 for a group of up to 10 people.

Each pitch can accommodate two tents and up to four animals, and each pitch has four pitches, two of which are open to the public for a price of $5 per person per day for two days. The park also has areas for volleyball, horseshoes, softball and football, as well as a picnic area with picnic tables and picnic chairs.

The park staff loves the challenge and it is one of the most challenging parks in the state, with a variety of challenges available to park visitors.
