As the name suggests, the island was once used for hunting and serves as a national park as a reserve for an island rich in wildlife. The popular park in historic Beaufort is a popular hunting and fishing spot for hunters, fishermen, boaters, hikers and other outdoor enthusiasts.

The island is a popular destination for people who love the natural coastal environment and love hunting and fishing as well as fishing and boating.

The historic 19th century lighthouse offers its guests spectacular views of the coast. The lighthouse and lighthouse complex have been registered with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Florida Department of Natural Resources on the National Register of Historic Places.

The picnic area can be reserved for $25 to $32 per day, and if accommodations are not reserved, guests can have them serviced. To reserve a picnic, call the park office at (904) 888-462-8477 or the picnic table at the entrance to the beach.

On a whim, you can explore the lagoons on Hunting Island, observe various animal species, search for shells and sandbanks and observe various bird species, reptiles, amphibians, birds of prey and other wildlife. Go as close to the coast as possible for a kayaking adventure or a picnic on one of the many sandy beaches.

The kayak farm provides life jackets, equipment and guidance, but no prior knowledge is required. The program is limited to paddlers aged 12 and over, and adults must be between 12 and 17 years old. The offers vary weekly and the programme runs on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 am to 4 pm, with special events on weekends.

Bring drinking water and sunscreen and wear clothing and shoes that can get wet, such as shorts and T-shirts, as well as sunscreen.
