Santee State Park is a 2,500-acre park that opened in 1949 and is located in the Santee Valley in San Diego County, California. The flooded forest of Lake Marion holds the natural attractions that have made the area a national attraction for anglers, such as the inland perches carried by the Santees and Cooper. Located on the eastern bank of the Santa Barbara River, Sante Fe County, the second largest city in the country and home to more than 100,000 acres of land at the time of the power outage, is submerged about 30 miles south of downtown San Jose. Flooded forests and Lake Marion are part of a 1.5-mile-long and 2-mile-wide lake. It sits on a lake that emerged when the state's first hydroelectric power plant, Santa Fe Power Company, flooded more than 100,000 acres of land.

The rental building is ideal for groups of up to 90 people, projection screens and lecterns are available on request. The air-conditioned property features an open-air amphitheater, picnic tables, picnic table and picnic area, as well as an outdoor pool and pool house.

Take Exit 98 on Highway 6 in Elloree and travel both ways, the park is one mile away, or take Exit 97 on Interstate 95 southbound.

Follow the signs and take Highway 6 for approximately 15 miles to Elloree, or take I-26 to Highway 6 at Exit 136 to St. Matthews.
