About Sesquicentennial State Park

The 1,419 hectare park is set in a sandy hill and features a beautiful 30 hectare lake surrounded by hiking trails and picnic areas. It attracts locals and travelers with its beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean and its natural beauty.

Sesqui is often a place for family celebrations and group camping, but it is also a popular destination for hiking, fishing, camping and other activities.

The park was originally built in the 1930s by the Civil Defence and is still a testimony to their craftsmanship. It is considered one of the oldest buildings still standing in Richland County, and the park's main attraction is its interpretative nature programs. The park also houses a museum, the Sesqui Museum of Natural History, which was moved from its original location in 1969.

The Retreat Center is available for group meetings of up to 50 people and has a fully equipped kitchen with cookware and crockery. The centre can also be used for meetings and conferences with overnight accommodation and for private events.

The participants of an overnight stay are responsible for their own transport to and from the Retreat Center. To reserve the retreat centre, please contact the park directly for more information about the facility or to ask about reservations or accommodation in the centre.

How to get there: Take Exit 74 and drive from Highway 1 to two Notch Road, drive 1 mile on Highway 1 and drive 2 miles. Take Exit 74, turn left onto Highway 2, turn right onto Highway 1, continue for 1 mile, the park is on the right.

The park is on the right and from there drive one mile on Highway 1 to Two Notch Road, turn right on Highway 2 and drive two miles, the park is on the right.
