About Atlanta State Park

Atlanta State Park is a state park in the city of Atlanta, Georgia, USA, on the site of the former Robert E. Wright Air Force Base. The land was acquired by Texas under a 2004 U.S. Army license that has an extension option until 2054.

It is breathtaking and offers excellent viewing views of the city of Atlanta, Atlanta State Park, the Georgia State Capitol and the Atlanta BeltLine.

Catfish in the canal and Blue Flathead are also abundant, and Catfish in the canal and Blue Flathead and other fish species are abundant.

Once, caddos settled here, which once found their way from the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico and then to Florida.

Excavations by the Smithsonian Institute have uncovered numerous tombs and artifacts, and archaeologists have found a house pattern in which the shape of the post is still intact. Attractions nearby include the Georgia Museum of Natural History, Georgia State Park and Atlanta Zoo and Aquarium of Georgia.

Besides the dam and lake, the homes that preceded Jefferson himself, as well as the three-state community where Texas and Arkansas stand and Louisiana can touch, are in the area considered safe. To reach the park, which is 11 miles northwest of Atlanta, take FM 96 on US Highway 59, then drive south on FM 1154 to get to this park. Atlanta is located about half a mile south of the entrance to Georgia State Park and about an hour north of downtown Atlanta.
