About Lake Anna State Park

The land in Lake Anna State Park was formerly known as Gold Hill and was home to the Goodwin Gold Mine. Gold was first discovered in 1829, mining reached its peak in the 1880s and the last gold found was in a zinc mine in 1940.

In 1971 Lake Anna was created as cooling water for Virginia Power, and in 1972 work began on a water-oriented park in the park.

Lake Anna State Park opened in 1983 and in the summer exhibitions and exhibitions in the Visitor Center complement the interpretative program in the natural and historical areas. Boating, fishing and the beautiful lake are just some of the attractions of the park and are a major attraction. Besides the beach, Lake Anna State Park and other state parks in the area offer a variety of activities for children and adults, including swimming, biking, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, fishing, camping and much more.

Discounted swimming vouchers and annual passes are only available in the park, but annual passes are available at the park reservation centre. The snack bar is open from 10 am to 5 pm on weekdays and from 11 am to 5 pm on weekends, and on Saturdays and Sundays.

Three picnic huts are available, which can be reserved by calling 1 - 800 - 933 - PARK. There are two large and small apartments, three of which are rented. Parking fees are not included in the rental price of the accommodation, but parking fees do not include parking.

The rental is available daily from 8 a.m. to nightfall, on weekends from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and on weekdays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

No special permit is required to prepare meals at Lake Anna State Park or any of its facilities. Visitors should contact the park directly if they wish to coordinate a meal with a local restaurant or other gastronomic service provider in the area.

The park is open daily from 8 am until nightfall, and the outdoor swimming pool is open from 9 am to 5 pm and from 6 pm to 9 pm for swimming, boating and fishing.

The record cover has large green and white stripes, and the shelter is begged with a 40 x 20 inch tent, with poles in the middle and both sides open.

The accommodation can accommodate up to 50 people, but guests must bring deck chairs and it is not recommended to bring additional tables or barbecues. Additional tents may not be pitched and there is no ground to use, so there are no picnic tables, picnic chairs or other non-picnic utensils.

Parking is not a problem, but the shelter is located on the west side of the park, south of Lake Anna State Park, at the entrance to the lake.

The shelter is a 40 x 20 inch tent, the poles are open in the middle and the sides so that you have a good view of the lake. The album cover has large green and white stripes, but the shelter offers more privacy and a view of the forest.

The accommodation can accommodate up to 50 people at a time, but no less than 100 people must bring deckchairs and no group of more than 50 people can use the premises. It is not permitted to put up an additional tent and it is not recommended to bring additional tables or barbecues. In front of the shelter there is a small picnic area with picnic table, picnic tables and chairs, table and barbecue.

The picnic table and barbecue area are used by the general public, but on busy weekends it may be necessary to unload supplies. The property is located in picnic zone A and parking is available in the parking lot next to the picnic area on the north side of the property. This property is also located on a small lot at the south end of Lake Anna State Park, just south of Park Road.

The toilet is located about 100 meters from the picnic area and about 200 meters from Park Road, and a few meters south of the parking lot.

There are four large picnic tables, which are equivalent to eight normal tables, and two of the tables are wheelchair accessible. It is not permitted to pitch additional tents and it is not recommended to bring additional tables or barbecues. Groups of more than 25 vehicles are recommended, with a minimum of two tents and a maximum of four tents per vehicle and one tent per person.

The best way to get to the beach is by car-pooling for about a mile and forgetting it. The shelter is located in a small playground, which is about 50 meters away, but not within walking distance to the beaches.

The shelter has a good view of the lake, and boats can be launched from the ramp in the park. Boats can travel a short distance to the area and anchor off the coast near the shelter, or they can start from a ramp on a park boat and dock on the beach.

Hiking is common to 10 miles and the trails allow you to travel in any direction, but the park has a number of hiking trails, bike paths, horseback riding, canoeing, kayaking, hiking and fishing. The park also features hiking trails and a network of hiking and mountain biking trails, as well as a cycle path.
