About Dougs Beach State Park

Doug's Beach State Park is one of the most popular windsurfing spots in the state of New York. There are a number of windsurfing spots and boat sites suitable for advanced sailors, as well as a variety of kayaking and snorkeling spots.

Parking is on the south side of the SR-14, and there is a parking lot for vehicles, which is closed to passing trains. Visitors can reach the beach along a cobbled path from the northern end of the park, south of state road 14.

The shore is lined with picnic tables and shady trees, and Doug's Beach is a spot for windsurfers. The park is open all year round - for daily use, but it is most popular during the summer months, with visitors from across the state.

Perched on a basalt cliff created by flooding during the last Ice Age, the park is one of the state's most beautiful beaches. Basalt forms the foundation of Doug Beach State Park, the largest park of its kind in North America.

The river has long stretched through eastern Washington and Oregon during the flooding, and observers can see different currents at the different layers of rock walls. The currents appear to be hundreds of feet thick in some areas, but observers in other areas are limited to a few inches or so.

Native American villages are found along the Columbia River in Oregon and Washington. Visit Great Lakes Falls National Park, a popular tourist attraction in Washington, Oregon and Idaho.

The area is monitored by local, state and federal officials, and as a result, there are restrictions on the collection of artifacts associated with the village sites. Federal and state laws prohibit the disruption of websites and collections of these artifacts. Penalties for such violations are high: up to a year in prison and a $5,000 fine for each violation.

The park got its name from windsurfers who visited the beach when the sport was still in its infancy.

Lewis and Clark stopped at Doug's Beach on their way to New York, and the transaction was recorded in a journal.

The park has two main roads, one north and one south, and the nearest gas station, telephone and grocery are in Murdock and Lyle. The Dalles, Oregon, offer additional services at the park's main entrance, Doug's Beach, on the north side of the road.

Note: Archaeological sites and artifacts are protected by federal and state law, but their disruption or removal is illegal and carries severe penalties. Fire is not allowed in the park and visitors are advised to take their garbage with them when they leave. First, when you come, come and serve, please place yourself on the table at least 30 minutes before the service begins and at the latest 10 minutes after.

Head north on US 197 to the Columbia River, take I-84 to Exit 87 at Dalles in Oregon and drive south on the highway until you reach the park. The car wash is located south of the entrance to Beach State Park, near the intersection of US-197 and Oregon State Route 87.

The park is located on SR-14, south of the intersection of US-197 and Oregon State Route 87 in the Dalles area of Oregon.

The park is located at the 78 km mark SR-14 and is bounded by Oregon State Route 87, US-197 and US / 197A. The park was originally located on the east side of the Dalles area of Oregon, south of Interstate 5.
