About Manchester State Park

Manchester State Park is a park in the city of Manchester, New Hampshire, USA, located on the eastern side of the Manchester River, south of New York City. The park is covered with firs and maples and is about 5 miles (8 km) from Manchester city centre.

Seaside views of Seattle's Bainbridge Island are bounded to the east and west by the Atlantic Ocean, Hudson River and New York River.

The park is open all year round - for tent and day - and also has a campsite, picnic area and picnic areas for camping, picnicking, hiking and fishing. The lodge is located on the north side of the park, next to the parking lot and at the entrance to Bainbridge Island State Park, north of Seattle, Washington, USA.

The park is named after the nearby small town of Manchester and the city of Bainbridge Island in Washington. Originally called Brooklyn, it was renamed Manchester in 1884, as it was expected that Manchester Washington would become an active seaport comparable to Manchester, England.

The park itself was built at the turn of the century to protect Bremerton and still houses a former torpedo depot from 1901. The property was converted into a fire-fighting station during the Second World War and later became barracks for officers "clubs, barracks and a ballroom. Today it is used day and night as a picnic area, as well as an open space for picnics and other activities.

A gun battery from the park's early days is also still there, and all three buildings are on the National Monument Register. The mining wing was originally used as an office building for the US Army Corps of Engineers and the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (WSNR).

The park has a landfill at the entrance, and the maximum length of the site is 60 feet, possibly due to limited availability. The park also has two other landfills, one on the east side of the city and one on the west side, near the park entrance.

There are three hiking and cycling campsites and four campsites, all of which are first - served and serviced. Unlike the other campsites, they do not have picnic tables or braziers, but they are catered for. Reservations for these camps can be made by calling 888 - campout (8888 - 226 - 7688) or online.

Several unprotected picnic tables and braziers are also located in these camps, and there is a large picnic area with picnic table and fireplace. Group camps are available, which can accommodate between 20 and 130 people. They include covered accommodations, but there are no picnic areas, no fireplaces, and no access to water or other amenities.

Fees vary depending on the size of the group and the length of stay, so call the park for more details.

Check-in is 14: 30, check-out is 13: 00, and quiet hours are 22: 00 : 00 - 06: 30. A motor-driven electric generator operates the campfire and picnic area as well as the picnic table and brazier area. If you are staying in a group, you can stay as long as you like, but the fee varies by group (fees vary by size and group) and you must register.

The service is available from 11: 00 to 16: 30 at weekends and from 10: 00 to 14: 50 on Sundays and from 08: 15 to 17: 45 on weekdays, but not on Saturdays.

To reserve one of the two accommodations, call 888 - campout (8888 - 226 - 7688) for more information about the campsite and parking at Manchester State Park. Kayaks and small boats can be taken to the beach and the launching area, as well as to the parking lot at the park entrance.

Thirty to six unprotected picnic tables are available, which are served according to the principle "first come, first served." First of all, there is a small picnic area and next to the badminton nets there are volleyball nets. Most picnic areas have a brazier, but some do not, such as the one on the beach and the picnic table at the entrance to the park.

Horseshoe players must bring their own horseshoes and the beach is closed for the mussel harvest. The hotel is located on the second floor of the hotel building, next to the parking lot and in the same area as the picnic area.

Take Highway 16 Bremerton Exit to Sedgewick exit at Port Orchard and follow signs to Manchester State Park.
