About Ike Kinswa State Park

Ike Kinswa State Park has wooded campgrounds and is available all year round, and is one of the state's most popular hiking and camping destinations.

The park is open all year round for tents and day use and is open for tents for all day operation on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 am to 6 pm and on Sundays from 9 am to 5 pm and from 1 pm to 5.30 pm.

The area of Ike Kinswa State Park was originally inhabited by the Cowlitz Indians, and there are also burial sites in the region.

Many of the graves were moved when the Mayfield Dam pumped water into the canyon to extract water, and the area was originally called Mayfields Lake State Park. The name was changed to honor the Cowlitz Indian who represented Ike Kinswa and his people. Most services are available within a few miles of this park, but the park has a number of other amenities, including hiking trails, picnic areas, waterfalls, a picnic area and a hiking trail.

Reservations for the summer are accepted, but due to the reduced number of campsites and limited availability, camping is not possible. The maximum length of a site is 60 feet, possibly due to limited availability. To make a reservation on the website, call 888-888-226-7688 or send an e-mail to campouts @ kekekinswa.org.
