About Blue Mound State Park

Blue Mound State Park is located on the west side of the state park system, north of Fort Worth, Texas, about 30 miles south of Houston.

The 1,153-acre park is a great place to find solitude in the silence of the forest overlooking Blue Mound State Park. Blue Hill is open all year round and has a wide range of campsites, from wooded pitches to campsites with picnic tables and fireplaces. Each cabin has a picnic table and a campfire, and toilets and water fountains are located on each campsite.

Two electrical installations are accessible to disabled people, and opposite sites in the 1930s are modern buildings with toilets and showers.

You must register your tent and pay the entrance fee before setting up camp. As the visitor station is closed on arrival, you can use the self-registration station.

Reservations for family camping are accepted, but the number of people per campsite is limited. If there is a separate group camp in Blue Hill, an organized group can also book and camp there and camp in the same area.

Some parts of the campsites are open all year round and part of each is open all year round, but some parts are only open in the summer months and some in autumn.

Firewood and tap water are available, but there was no electricity and two electrical installations were repaired for the winter. Power lines will be laid on construction sites 28 and 32, and on construction sites 27 and 28.

Campsites and cabins can be adapted for disabled guests and offer access to Blue Mound State Park swimming pool and other amenities. The swimming pools are open with permission, but will not be built this year because there are so few swimming opportunities in the area.

BlueMound State Park is one of the largest state parks in North America with more than 1.5 million visitors annually.

The swimming and diving areas are separated by a 1.5 foot pool with a depth of 3 feet, and the depth varies from 3 feet in the shallower areas to 11 feet for the diving area. The pool is L-shaped and has a pool chair lift to help visitors with physical disabilities. It is heated and maintained at 79 - 80 degrees Celsius and is accessible to all visitors, regardless of age, gender, race, religion, disability or disability status.

The lift is water-powered and is designed for personal use, and the chair rotates 90 degrees to improve accessibility for deckchairs and wheelchairs.

The adjacent bathhouse offers a full service shower and changing rooms, as well as a shower cabin and bathtub. The bathroom is fully accessible and has a fully accessible shower room with private shower, shower cubicles and private showers.

The pool also includes a paddling pool for younger visitors, which is not used by lifeguards and is guarded by a lifeguard. The large sunbathing lawn offers plenty of space for sun worshippers who want to sunbathe.

Children should always be supervised by a parent or other responsible person, especially during the hot period of the day, from 12 noon to 5 pm.

Blue Mound State Park offers a range of beautiful and relaxing picnic options, and efforts are being made to raise funds to replace the pool. The observation tower is located on the west side of the park, south of Blue Mounds Lake. Along the coast there are several viewpoints as well as a picnic area, picnic tables and picnic benches.

The tower is equipped with an orientation meter that helps to determine the location of different cities and geological features. From the top of the tower you can enjoy views of Blue Mounds Lake and the surrounding countryside hundreds of feet above you.

The horseshoe farm is located on the north side of the main house and the playground and sandpits are near the picnic area and campsite. The trees along the east side and on both sides of Blue Mounds Lake and the south side provide a view of the surrounding area, which also offers those who cannot climb the observation tower a magnificent view of the surrounding landscape. Roll out into the countryside and enjoy the views from as far as the eye can see and even a few miles from the park.

Blue Mound State Park offers a variety of beautiful outdoor facilities that can be rented, such as a picnic area, a campground, a viewing tower and even a swimming pool.

Think of it as a rental - as a shelter, amphitheatre or viewing platform and contact the park office for more information. Would you like to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Blue Mound State Park with a picnic, concert or day in the park this year?

You can also ride on the trails in the park, but for cyclists from 16 years of age, a state hiking pass is required in addition to a vehicle badge. The park offers a wide range of hiking trails, some of which are challenging off the road. While some trails are open for hiking, there are three trails that are designated as hiking trails only in spring, summer and autumn: the self-guided Flintrock Nature Trail, the Red River Trail and the Blue Mound Trail. These trails can be used all year round, whether it is a groomed ski slope or a wet track.

Named after the park's former owner, John Minix, this 1-mile loop offers a winding turn along the Blue Mound Trail, a 1,000-foot stretch of the Red River Trail. When you go up the north side of a hill, you will see the boulders scattered everywhere for signs of life, such as the blue hill and a small stream.

This 2-mile trail winds through the park and passes a spring that flows year-round and was used years ago by Indians and early settlers in the area as a reliable source of water. The easiest route is the Red River Trail, a 1,000-foot stretch of the Blue Mound Trail from the parking lot to the creek.

This 2 km trail is managed by the Blue Mound Trail Conservancy and the Red River Trail Association (RTRA).

The trail follows Ryan's Creek, a spring-fed stream, from the gorge to Ryan Creek Gorge. A beautiful rock wall is located at the bottom of the water that oozes from this spring, and the path leads down to a beautiful waterfall.

This easily accessible campsite offers spectacular views of the surrounding area, Ryan's Creek Gorge and Blue Mountain Range.

A short walk leads to the summit of Ryan's Creek Gorge and the Blue Mountain Range and returns to the prairie with views of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Blue Ridge Mountains.

This trail offers spectacular views of the Dolomites and karst rocks and challenges the cycling skills of the cyclists. This extensive 3-mile trail is a great option for enthusiasts willing to take on the challenge.

The path is between the parking lot and the swimming pool and hikers can take the path without fear of oncoming cyclists or traffic. Get to know and experience the beautiful views of the Dolomites and karst rocks in the Blue Mountain State Park. This is a great opportunity to enjoy the view from the hiking trails and trails of the park first hand.

Visit the picnic area of the nature center to see the display boards, and there are also great views of Blue Mountain State Park from the parking lot and swimming pool.

Throughout the day, scientific programs will be presented to help visitors learn about the natural history of Blue Mountain State Park and its surroundings. The outdoor amphitheater overlooking the Appalachian Mountains provides an excellent setting for an evening naturalistic program.

Guided hikes and evening programs are offered throughout the day, and in the evening at the Blue Mountain State Park Nature Center. A reference programme for nature will also be published on the Park's Facebook page, along with a description of the programme and information about the event. The National Wildlife Federation (NWS) of the National Park Service will present a nationally recognized storytelling and naturalization program on Saturday, October 14, from 5: 00 p.m. to 7: 30 p.m.

The performance will take place on Saturday, October 14, at Blue Mountain State Park Nature Center, and donations are welcome. Miller's program includes performances in the park as well as other locations across the state and country.

Blue Mound State Park is located in the Blue Mounds area of Blue Mountain County, North Carolina, north of Asheville. Leave County Highway ID at BlueMounds, head south on County Road 5, continue on Mounded Road and continue north on Blue Hill Road until you reach the Park Nature Center at the southern end of the parking lot.

Follow Mounds Road through the city to the north, turn right and turn left at the park entrance onto Blue Hill Road and then right onto Mounded Road.

There is no access road to the park, but you can cross the Military Ridge State Trail or cycle from the entrance of Blue Hill Road to the parking lot of Mounds Road.
