About Rib Mountain State Park

This billion-year-old hill is one of the oldest geological formations on earth and hosts the oldest and most spectacular mountain range in the world.

The 1480 hectare park also has two private, enclosed picnic huts, a hiking trail and several other trails. The Mountain Bay State Trail, ideal for hiking, biking and snowmobiling, connects the Wausau area with Green Bay. A 1,000-meter trail from the park's entrance to the town of Waukesha offers spectacular views of the lake, river and state park itself, as well as a variety of scenic trails and trails in and around the mountain range. In addition to its natural beauty, it also offers a wide range of hiking and cycling trails, snowmobile trails, snowshoeing, mountain biking, canoeing and more.

The Wisconsin River Canal is used for whitewater kayaking and canoeing, with an exit for the DNR, and the Milwaukee River Canal for kayaking and canoeing.

Rib Mountain is located west of the Interstate Highway and has extensive roads, vehicles and paths. Marathon County offers a variety of activities ranging from hunting, fishing, golf, curling and bowling. Rib Mountain State Park and its adjacent trails feature extensive off-road trails and have long been used as an amusement park by residents and visitors to the area.

The ski resorts are located north at the foot of the mountain, and the hiking trails, picnic areas, parking and parking are all located on or near the mountain.

A valid Wisconsin State Park vignette is required and can be purchased at the park, but is not required for admission to the state park. Take County Highway N. West to the south, turn left onto the highway, turn left onto County Highway N West, and then right onto State Highway W.

Turn right onto State Road N and head north on State Road N - West until you reach the parking lot.
