About Coconino National Forest

The Coconino National Forest is located in central Arizona, in the central part of the state, between the Colorado River and the Arizona-New Mexico border. To the south is the basin, or mountain province, which includes the Sonoran Desert in southern Arizona; to the north are the reclining rocks of Arizona's high desert mountains, such as the Kaibab Mountains.
