About Red Rock State Park

Red Rock State Park is one of Colorado's most popular hiking and camping destinations, with more than 2,000 acres of hiking, biking and hiking trails.

The trail leads through Manzanita and juniper to the rich coast of Oak Creek, and the coastal habitat provides the park with an opportunity to provide a framework for environmental education. The creek, a tributary of the Colorado River, is surrounded by a series of steep cliffs and narrow, rocky slopes with a steep slope to the shore. This stream winds around the parks, creating rivers where plants and animals are scarce, and a habitat for birds and other wildlife.

Red Rock offers a variety of daily and weekly park events, whether hiking, biking, camping, fishing, picnicking, kayaking or other activities.

The property was acquired by the Arizona State Parks Board in 1986 and opened to the public in 1991. Facilities in the parks include 10 hiking trails that have been modernized and disabled toilets.

Camping is not possible in this park, but hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking, picnicking and other activities are possible.

The land was originally part of the Smoke Trail Ranch, which belonged to Jack and Helen Frye, later to the Fryes and their children Jack, Helen and Jack.

The wildlife in the park is rich and visitors can see mule deer, spears, coyotes and bobcats, while there is a wide variety of birds. Black-tailed rattlesnakes are also seen, as are tarantula lizards, and there have been regular sightings. In the fall of 1980, Governor Bruce Babbitt was hiking along Oak Creek southwest of Sedona with friends.

The group was on private land and when they reached a certain property, they approached a person, told him to leave and pointed out that the waterway was closed to public access. That prompted Governor Babbitt to worry about the group's safety and the possibility of shutting it off from the public. The Red Rock Miller Visitor Center includes exhibits, souvenir shops and restrooms.

There is also a cinema that shows short films about Sedona and the surrounding area. The Red Rock Miller Visitor Center includes an interpretation area, a gift shop and restrooms. Learn more about the history and history of the park for children from 4 to 12 years and adults from 18 years.

If you can book a wedding 12 months in advance, you can book it at the Red Rock Miller Visitor Center. All reservation fees are non-refundable and vehicle entry fees remain. If you do not make a reservation, you must pay to secure an area served for the first come, first served, one - day - only reservations.

You can arrange up to 13 picnic tables to your liking, and a large, covered Ramada bed and breakfast is available at the Red Rock Miller Visitor Center or on one of the 13 large parking lots.

The two Ramadas in the Twin Cypress area have six picnic tables that can be arranged to your liking.

Two visitor centers of Ramada have set up a large parking lot with 7 picnic tables that you can arrange according to your needs. Users have access to the existing tables at the Red Rock Miller Visitor Center and the other two parking lots.

Electrical outlets are available in the parking lot of the Red Rock Miller Visitor Center and in the other two parking lots, as well as in the Twin Cypress area.

Picnic tables and shelters are located in the group rooms, which are used during the day when the area is not reserved, and the visitor center toilets are nearby. The reservation fee for Ramadas is required and must be reserved; all areas are open to the public on the basis of "first come, first served." If you use a group room all day and do not reserve an area, there is a picnic table or shelter at the Red Rock Miller Visitor Center.

Several uncovered picnic tables and barbecues are scattered in the field in areas with two cypresses and are available if you reserve a Ramada area. Several hiking trails are bordered by the east gate of the park, and the lime kiln path is located right in front of the park entrance. A popular route for cyclists is the Kalkofenweg, a 1.5-kilometre route from the visitor centre to the car park. There are no bicycle parking spaces, as most of the paths in this park are closed to bicycles.

The family-oriented network of trails is well marked for safety and fun, and the Coyote ridge trail connects with the Eagle's Nest Trail, a 1.5 km long circular trail. The Eagle's Nest is one of the most popular hiking trails in Red Rock State Park, a connecting loop that leads from the visitor center to a picnic area on the east side of Red Rocks.

The Kisva Trail, which also leads to a short loop along the Yavapai ridge path, connects the three large loops through the river corridor. The Javelina Trail leads from the visitor center to the east side of Red Rock State Park, and the Coyote Ridge Trail connects to the Eagle's Nest Trail. If you are hiking, stop for a picnic at the picnic area on the west side, south of the trail.

The lime kiln path is located near the park entrance and Turkey Creek Trail east of the park entrance.

Red Rock State Park offers limited horse riding throughout the park, but bicycles and horses are only allowed on designated trails. Horses should follow the painted trail on paved roads and bicycles on dirt roads. Red Rock State Park offers a wide variety of hiking, biking, mountain biking and horse riding trails.

The trailer hitch is located near the visitor center, and the trailer hitch can be unlocked from the parking lot at the entrance to the park and Turkey Creek.
