About Grayton Beach State Park

Grayton Beach has always been home to the silver moonlight in the night sky and the warm glow of the sun. The beach offers an idyllic environment for swimming, sunbathing and surfing and is one of my favorite places in the state.

Visitors can go canoeing and kayaking to see the ecosystem of the salt marshes. A boat ramp provides access to the beach and a short walk from the parking lot to Grayton Beach State Park.

Accommodation offers modern cabins and a fully equipped campground, and the trail starts at the entrance to the park on Highway 30. A coastal forest, where the salt wind winds through bushes, oaks and magnolias, has an eerie Middle-earth view. Hikers and cyclists can let off steam on a four-kilometre-long path through the pine forest.

Grayton Beach State Park was acquired by lease from the Florida Board of Education in 1964 and inaugurated in 1968. The 2,028-hectare park and city borders the Gulf of Mexico, which gives the title to the south. The park is one of the oldest communities on the Gulf and takes its name from Grayton, a small town of about 1,000 people located on the west coast of Florida south of St. Petersburg, Florida.

Grayton Beach State Park offers two types of cabins, one for campers and the other for vacation homes. If you don't want to drive a camper, try the duplex cabin, which is located in a pine forest and is ideal for camping, hiking, fishing and other outdoor activities. Each cottage is equipped with a kitchen with basic cooking and eating needs for all basic necessities, as well as a bathroom and shower.

Bed linen, pillows, blankets and towels are also provided, but you must bring your own food and water, as well as a water bottle, toiletries and snacks.

Like most cabins, the front bedroom has a queen-size bed and the rear bedroom has two single beds. Two vehicles are allowed in the cabin, pets are not allowed, nor dogs, cats or horses.

Grayton Beach State Park also has two ADA and special needs cabins ADA - needs guests. Each cabin has a relaxation TV and telephone, and beach beds and campsites in Grayton are open to the public at all times.

The trees and shrubs in this place make you think you are miles away from civilization, but it is not too hard to enjoy a great camping experience. Bring a camper tent and camp under the shade of trees or on the beach at Grayton Beach State Park, or bring your campers and tents and enjoy your stay.

Enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, relax on the sugar sand beach, swim in the emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico and enjoy the sunsets at Grayton Beach State Park. Enjoy the sunset at Graytons Beach or swim and relax on the beach on a beautiful beach with stunning views of Florida's Gulf Coast. Take a canoe or kayak and explore the 100-acre lake surrounded by the State Park nature reserves. At Western Lake there is a boat ramp and the Grayton Beach Nature Trail starts at the beach and parking lot. Bring seawater species to catch the surf, while freshwater and saltwater fish are caught in the brackish waters of the lake.

The signs interpret and the self-written flyers, which are available at the ranger station, as well as the maps and maps of the nature reserves.

Ranger - Interpreting programs are conducted throughout the peninsula during the summer months (details under Ranger). Bring your bike and your favourite shoes to Grayton Beach and enjoy a day of hiking, camping, picnicking, fishing, kayaking and other activities.
