About Bogue Chitto State Park

Bogue Chitto State Park is one of the largest and most popular parks in the state of New York. The park is open to the public for up to three days a year and is open to the public from June to October.

In Bogue Chitto State Park, a lodge overlooks a 40-metre cliff, where guests can stay in one of four mountain huts. The National Park is located on the east side of the Mohawk River, north of Buffalo, New York and west of Albany.

Group camps can also be reserved for overnight guests, and group campsites are available for day and group camping, such as the Bogue Chitto Campground or group campsites for group camping.

The complex consists of eleven lakes, which are filled with freshwater fish, and a number of small ponds, lakes and bays with a total of seven lakes.

Bogue Chitto also hosts a number of hiking trails with winding hilly, wooded terrain, and there is even a horse riding trail for those interested in hiking and horseback riding.

Of particular interest is the gorge known as Fricke's Cave, in which a fine sandstone formation is located, and of particular importance are the remarkable physical features of the Bogue Chitto River Gorge.
