About Albert E Sleeper State Park

Albert E. Sleeper State Park includes a forest, wetlands, sandy beach and dunes in Saginaw Bay and Lake Huron. Visitors can relax in the shade and seclusion of a campsite or enjoy the sunrise and sunset over the bay.

The park opened in 1925 as a landscaped park, and in 1927 the state acquired the property and named it Huron State Park. In 1944, the park was renamed in honor of Albert E.

Sleeper, a senator from Saginaw County, who enacted the statute that created the state's parking system.

Those who want to hike can use the 4 km of well-maintained hiking trails, and along the route there are safe toilets. The paths lead to different habitats and are directly accessible to campsites, but those who want to hike can also use them in summer. There is an outdoor centre for schools, groups and other organisations that aims to offer young people outdoor learning experiences.

The park has a long history of attracting a fair share of visitors from around the world, from the United States, Canada and Australia.

Groups of up to 120 people can rent the facilities, empty cabins can be rented by individuals who do not need a dining room, or by individuals and families with small children and people with disabilities. The park is located directly on the park, except for a small part of the parking lot on the north side of the city, near the main entrance.

E 55 miles from the town of Albert E. Sleeper, about 60 miles north of the town of Albertson and about 30 miles south of Fort Worth.
