About Franconia Notch State Park
Franconia Notch is the famous Old Man's Mountain, immortalized by Nathaniel Hawthorne and Daniel Webster, and a spectacular pass crossed by a unique park road that stretches from Flume Gorge in the south to Echo Sounder Lake in the north. Franconian mountains and is one of the most popular hiking and camping destinations in North America.
Here you can visit the New England Ski Museum, take the exciting cable car to Cannon Mountain, walk through the famous Flume Gorge, stop at the Flumes Gorge Visitor Center and visit our New England Ski Museum.
Bring the family and enjoy the Franconian Forest, swim in the Echo Sounder Lake and stay for a while, or take time out to trout and fly fishing at Lake Profile, cycle along the recreational trail, watch mountain climbers and hawks hiking the Appalachian Trail at Cannon Cliffs and much more.
