About Carl G Washburne Memorial State Park

Washburne is located on the east side of Highway 101, and along the highway there is a buffer of native plants. There are several hiking trails of varying difficulty, which lead from the campsites to the beach and to the wildlife observation areas. This trail leads to the Heceta Head Trail, which leads to the historic lighthouse at He Ceta Head. Information about the tour can be found on the website of the "Lighthouse of the Head of Heceta." The footpaths lead to a day and use area where you can watch whales and comb through the beach crests.

At night you can hear the pounding surf and the sound of waves on the beach, as well as the sounds of sea lions, seals and whales on the campsite.

A stream flows through the campsite and the elk wanders there, as does a stream that flows from the campsite into the stream in front of the park.
