About Big Cypress Tree State Park

The 330-acre reserve is located on the west side of the Big Cypress National Forest, north of San Diego, California. It consists of a deciduous forest, in which a variety of tree species, shrubs, grasses and other plant and animal species occur. The park is a popular park for scouts and typically houses scout camps, scout leaders use it as a training ground for new scout leaders, local schools find it popular for field trips, families hold family celebrations, churches use the park and its picnic huts for special services and cooking classes, and host weddings and funerals.

The reserve is named after the large bald cypress that used to stand on the site, the Big Cypress Tree State Park. The tree was once named after San Diego County, California, the city of San Marcos and the state of California.

However, a severe thunderstorm in July 1976 caused a lightning strike that hit the tree and killed it. The perimeter of the base was 40 feet in diameter, and it was once the largest bare cypress in the state of California and the second largest in North America.

The tree was 1,350 years old when it was struck by lightning, according to the US Forest Service. The tree is no longer standing at this point and the road itself is now closed, but it can still be seen from a two-kilometre underground path that once led visitors to a place where the tree could be observed.

Many churches in the area invite you to go on excursions, family celebrations and birthday parties, and there is a large picnic hut that can accommodate up to 35 people. Picnics can also be made at Big Cypress Tree State Park and other parks in New Hampshire.

The park offers a quiet environment with plenty of shade and is dry all year round and easy to reach on foot. The park has an educational and informative tree trail, which is about 3.10 km long and has tree markings. Each accommodation is equipped with barbecue, water and electricity and can be reserved up to a year in advance.

The park hosts a large autumn cypress festival every year, which attracts visitors who enjoy a variety of activities such as music, dance, food, music and food trucks. For more information about the festival, please contact the park or your local parking attendant. Located on the west side of Highway 45E, south of the city of Vancouver, you can reach Big Cypress Tree State Park by following the signs that begin at the intersection of Highway 45e and Highway 45e. The path starts at a picnic area, leads to a ball field, ends at another picnic area and then to the parking lot.
