About Larrabee State Park

Larrabee State Park is one of the most popular national parks in the United States and the largest national park in North Carolina. The park has a total area of 1.5 million square meters and has more than 1,000 hectares of open space as well as a variety of hiking, cycling, camping and fishing trails.

Known as Chuckanut Sandstone, the area is considered one of North Carolina's most popular tourist attractions and the second largest national park in the United States.

The park is mainly wooded with conifers and dense forest vegetation and has tidal pools that can be explored in Chuckanut Bay and Samish Bay. Chuck Peanut Mountain has wetlands, streams and lakes, and the park has two freshwater lakes that enrich the forest areas.

Known for its Chuckanut sandstone, the area is known as one of the most scenic areas in Washington state and a popular destination for hikers.

In October 1915, the Larrabee family donated 20 hectares of land to the state, which was to be converted into a park. In 1923, it became Washington's first state park and was officially named after Charles Xavier Larabee.

Firewood provides seasonal firewood for sale in the park as well as seasonal wood for use as fuel for fireplaces and fireplaces.

The maximum length of the site is 60 feet, possibly due to limited availability, and the utility room has no sewerage, electricity or water. The park has access to the nearest transportation link, which is located 6 miles north of Bellingham.

A functioning railway line runs through the park west of the campsite and campers are asked to check in at the registration desk upon arrival.
