About Leadbetter Point State Park

Leadbetter Point State Park is an open-to-the-day nature reserve adjacent to Willapa National Wildlife Refuge, one of the largest national wildlife refuges in the United States and the second largest in North America. The park covers a total area of 1.7 million hectares and has a population of about 1,000 people, about half of whom are from the local community of Leadbetter.

Leadbetter Point State Park, the largest nature reserve in the Willapa National Wildlife Refuge, offers scenic views of the west of the town of Leadbetter and a variety of wildlife and natural phenomena.

The park is part of the Willapa Bay Water Trail, and visitors can hike through the park and cross-country ski on the trail. The park is a popular destination for hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking and other outdoor activities and is part of the Willapa Bay Water Trail, the first of its kind in the state.

In autumn and spring, you can see a variety of migratory birds, including the blue heron, eagle owl, Canada geese and other birds of prey. The park is open daily from 6.30 am to 5 pm, on weekends from 10 am to 5 pm and during the week from 12 pm to 4 pm.

You can drive to Leadbetter Point State Park from anywhere in the state of New York, New Jersey or any other state in North America.
