About Bay View State Park

Bay View State Park is a National Wildlife Conservation Area designated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and the California Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Bay View State Park is one of the state's most popular parks, with over 1,000 acres of open space.

The park overlooks Bay Island, the largest existing national estuary in California and one of the largest in the world. The Breazeale Padilla Bay Interpretive Center is located about a mile north in the park.

On a clear day, visitors can see San Francisco Bay, Mount Diablo, Sierra Nevada and the Pacific Ocean.

The park is open all year round for tents and day use, but in winter the tents are closed.

The town is named after William J. Mckenna, who designed the original complex in 1884. The original part of the park was donated to the state in 1925 by the Skagit County Agricultural Association with the aim of becoming a state park, and in 1968 other land was acquired. Bay View State Park is named after its first owner, Pat O'Neill, a local farmer and rancher.

The park features a baseball field, a racetrack, a golf course and a tennis court. The park's name is derived from the Bay View Community, which refers to the city of the same name in the state's history.

The campsites are divided into three areas, with the maximum length of each site being 60 feet, possibly due to limited availability.

The lookout point T1, T9 is also a supply area and offers a good opportunity to see the bay of Padilla.

The two supply sites, T10 and T30, have a 1.5 hectare lawn area, which provides space for children to play safely and for parents to keep an eye on them. The length of each side is about 60 feet, but the paws are back in between, so not as long as some of the other sides.

The length of each page varies from site to site, with 40 feet being the maximum length, but the pages are back in between, so not that long.

A-places (31 - 76 standard places) are offered, as well as a variety of other places, such as left-handed, right-handed and left-handed.

All sides are back in, but only a few pitches offer space for a large tent and are only available for one day a year.

The park offers group camps (tent only) and each camp can accommodate 20 to 64 people, but only for a limited number of days a year.

There is no room for any camper, but showers and toilets are nearby, as well as a picnic table, picnic tables and a large picnic area.

Padilla Bay is strongly influenced by tidal currents and at low tide the bay turns into a large mud plain. The park is located on the west side of Padilla Beach, just south of San Diego, California, about half a mile from the coast.

The capacity for beach accommodation is 175 people and the Skagit County Parks offer a variety of amenities such as picnic areas, picnic tables, beach chairs, picnic tables and picnic benches. Access to the beach and San Diego Bay is by boat from Padilla Beach and from the beach parking lot on the west side of the park. The launch is possible under various tidal conditions, but only at high tide and at a distance of 30 feet from the shore.

Rental costs vary depending on the size of the group, with the maximum rental cost being $5 per person for adults and $3 for children under 18.

The beach area is well suited for swimming and there is a lifeguard on site, but on windy days and with appropriate tides, sailing is becoming increasingly popular. The park also has a large number of covered picnic tables and picnic chairs that are served first - come, come - be served. Draft beer is not allowed on the premises and the park reserves the right to prohibit draught beer in the parking lot.

Crawling and clapping is best done in the shade of a tree or in front of the hotel, which is located on the beach, not far from the car wash.

Take Exit 230 on 5 North / South and turn right on Bay View Edison Rd. The park is about four kilometers north of the highway and the sign points to the right turn lane.
