About Cama Beach State Park

Cama Beach State Park is located on the west coast of Washington State, just a few miles north of Seattle. A 90-minute drive from Seattle, CAMA Beach offers a time capsule experience for day and night guests alike. It offers visitors the opportunity to return to the past and relive the fishing village of the 1930s, from cedar huts to waterfront bungalows. Each is equipped with modern amenities and can be rented year-round to individuals or groups.

The historic fishing village has been a popular summer holiday for families for over 50 years. The area, which has been used for fishing and hunting by the Indians for centuries, offers unique views of the Pacific Ocean and Puget Sound, as well as scenic views of Cama Beach State Park.

Cama Beach will open on June 21, and the park is open all year round, but the Welcome Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For centuries, the Indians hunted and fished in the area, and in the mid-19th century the region was used for logging. The islands became more accessible with the construction of the Cama Beach Bridge and the opening of the CAMA Beach State Park in 1890.

Muriel Lee Risk ran the fishing village of Cama from 1934 to 1989, and her two daughters took over the estate in 1990. The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission began acquiring the land in 1994 through a combination of family donations and sales. Holiday homes and fishing villages were built and shortly afterwards discussions began to turn the park into a park.

The vision of the park is to provide visitors with a relaxing and restful environment in which they can also learn about the history and culture of Cama Beach and its inhabitants. In the center for wooden boats there is also a boat building and maritime culture.

There are parking spaces for shops, cabins and historic pumps, and in the future retreats and gastronomic offers are planned. When the park was still a fishing village, the shops were also a social centre and guests came to enjoy the visits of resort staff and old friends.

Today, the Parkshop is once again the centre of the park's activities and visitors can buy goods, including snacks, groceries and souvenirs. There, catering arrangements for special occasions as well as special events such as weddings and other events can be arranged.

The store is also home to volunteers who answer questions about the park and help visitors enjoy their time at Camas Beach. Each is 14 - 20 cm tall and has a living room, kitchen and bedroom and can be rented to individuals or groups.

The second cottage in the second row has a living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and two double beds with double bed. The waterfront cottage has two single beds and has two double beds with a single bed and a double bed for two years.

The cottages are equipped with a toilet and shower in the park, as well as a kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom and bathroom.

Laundry services are not available at this time, so guests should bring their own clothes, toiletries and other personal items to wash and dry.

They measure 14 x 28 cm and have a total of seven deluxe cabins, each with its own bathroom, kitchen and dining area. Each of the seven "Deluxe Cottages" consists of two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a living room.

Deluxe cabins have a double bed or twin beds, and currently no laundry service is available. The cabins are equipped with kitchen, bathroom, kitchen and dining area, as well as a laundry room. Each cabin is located on the beach and overlooks the water, but currently there is no laundry service in the Deluxe Cottages.

Guests must bring their own food, water, clothing, toiletries, towels and other personal items for the cabins and cottages, as well as a small amount of water.

Each bungalow has a large covered porch overlooking the beach and the Saratoga passage and is equipped with kitchen, bathroom, laundry, kitchenette, dining room and bathroom. The bungalows are dazed and have access to an outdoor pool, pool house, hot tub, shower and hot water.

Laundry services are not available at the moment and guests must bring their own, but there are of course boat and boat building facilities. The programme is presented by volunteers and staff of the National Park and is open to the public daily from 9 am to 4 pm.

On Fridays from 19.30 there is a bonfire program series and on Saturdays programs for children and families. In summer we offer a bird walk with experts and on Wednesday at 1 pm there is an open day with picnic table and food and drinks for the public from 1 pm to 3 pm.

For 2008, a bird walk with experts and a picnic with food and drinks on Saturday and Sunday from 1 pm to 3 pm in the park are on the program.

At Cama Beach, you can cycle 15 miles, take part in a boat workshop at the Center for Wooden Boats, explore the extensive coastline, admire a variety of wildlife and relax in cozy historic huts that offer some of the best of both worlds.
