The highlight of McCroskey State Park is the Mary Minerva McCoskey Memorial Park, the only park of its kind in the United States that offers a wide range of activities for children, adults and families of all ages. Facilities include a playground, picnic area, water park, hiking trails, hiking trails and picnic areas, and a museum dedicated to the pioneer. Some of the roads can be too uneven for family cars and are not suitable for campers.

The 5,300-acre park was given to the state of Idaho in 1955, and Skyline Drive is an 18-mile gravel road that crosses the park and provides access to McCroskey State Park and the Mary Minerva McCoskey Memorial Park Museum. It offers spectacular views of the Palouse prairie, reflecting the ever-changing agricultural patchwork of a valley bordered by the surrounding wooded foothills, and the hardships endured by a frontier woman.

The park houses the Mary Minerva McCoskey Memorial Park Museum, a museum of her life and work. Facilities include a visitor centre, picnic area, water and rubbish collection, toilets and picnic tables, and the museum.

The park is accessible on foot, by bicycle, car, bus, train, ferry or other public transport. If your vehicle is longer than 30 metres, it is recommended to avoid this journey as it can lead to significant traffic jams.
