About Potholes State Park

Potholes State Park is home to the Pothole Reservoir, also known as Sullivan Reservation, and is one of the most popular state parks in upstate New York. The reservoir is often confused with the potholes, which are 30 - 45 minutes away from the parking lot.

The terrain is bounded by freshwater bogs to the desert, with a mixture of sand dunes, grassland and grassland, as well as a variety of other vegetation species.

Note: The following general fee information does not apply to all parks, and not all fees will apply to each park (for example, the fee indicated for primitive campsites and landfills applies only to parks that have them). Choosing a premium campsite in the park can cost an additional $1 per night or a maximum of $5 per day per pitch. An additional night will be added to the price of the highly used parks listed below.

Potholes State Park is one of the most popular campgrounds in the state, with more than 3,000 acres of land available for camping and fishing.

In summer, you can stay in the park for up to ten consecutive days, thus extending the length of your stay. Check-in is 14: 30, check-out is 13: 00, and quiet times are 22 - 00 and 06 - 30. Extra vehicles must park on a designated campsite with an additional pitch; if you are camping, this fee is included in your camping fee. If a recreational vehicle arrives with a second vehicle, you will be charged $10 per night for that second vehicle.

Tents and campers can use any type of pitch, but all units camping on Union Square must pay the Union fee and the site fee. The park has two types of camping: Union and Location pitches, each with its own site fee.

The maximum length of the pitch is 50 feet, possibly due to limited availability, and the campsite next to the reservoir is booked. Campsites can be booked in advance for $10 per day or $30 per week for a total of $50 per month.

The park offers a group camp for up to 50 people, and the camp is located on the west side of the park, right on the main road, about 800 m from the lake. It is well shaded, has a lawn and is of a year-round stream with excellent trout and perch for the group in the camp for fishing.
Fees vary depending on the size of the group, with a minimum of $10 for adults and $5 for children under 5.

The water level at Sullivan Reservoir fluctuates dramatically from spring to autumn, so reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance. The park has a limited number of picnic areas, picnic tables and benches, and a picnic area with picnic table.

The park offers a variety of activities such as hiking, cycling, canoeing, kayaking, camping and fishing. Annual tickets can be purchased at the park for $5, which can be purchased from the staff. An annual pass to Potholes State Park National Wildlife Refuge is available for $5.

The lake is located on the west side of the park, about half a mile from the entrance to Potholes State Park. Toilets are available during the day - use area on the shore near the reservoir. The possibilities are there, but you have to come first, so come early and use them first.

Take the South motorway and follow the signs for parking on the 90, the directions are good - signposted and well signposted. Take Exit 179 at Moses Lake and drive south to the entrance to Potholes State Park, about half a mile from the park entrance.
