About Squilchuck State Park

Squilchuck State Park is a 288-acre camping park surrounded by firs, ponderosa pines and at an altitude of 4,000 feet. The wooded park is located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada, north of San Diego, California.

The park has two areas reserved for tobogganing and is open only for limited winter games, including snowshoeing, skiing, snowmobiling, mountain biking, cross-country skiing and snowboarding. The park is called Wenatchee Confluence State Park and covers a total of 1.5 million square feet of parkland and 2,000 acres.

Closed from 9 April to 9 May, reopening on 10 May and, depending on snow conditions, on 12 May, reopening on 11 May.

Parkland was sold to the state in 1952, the ski lodge was built in 1953, and Squilchuc means "muddy water" in Chinook.

Most services are available a few kilometres from the park and there is a group campsite for up to 10 people, as well as a picnic area, a ski lodge and a hiking trail.

In the park there are toilets and two showers, one at hook level, the other at abbey level. There is also a toilet with shower on the campsite and an outdoor shower with two shower heads.

Maximum room length is 30 feet, possibly due to limited availability, but charges vary depending on group size.

Check-in is 14: 30, check-out is 13: 00, and quiet times are 22 - 00 and 06 - 30. Motor-powered electric generators operate during the day and night, as well as in the morning and evening hours. Individual campsites are available for as little as $10 a day or as much as you like, but the length of stay will be extended. Check-in is 14: 30 and stay until midnight, with a quiet hour from 12: 15 - 18: 45 and a full day camping from 22: 00 - 06: 30.

Prices vary depending on group size, but the lodge has a full-service restaurant, bar and private dining room, and an outdoor swimming pool. The lodge can be rented during the day or used as a location for weddings and other group meetings.

Parking and hiking trails are available for day visitors who come to the park on foot or by bike, and reservation information is available at the parks by calling (509) 664-6373. If you have reserved a campsite at the lodge, you are not allowed to enter the campsite or the lodge grounds during the day.

Mountain biking is not allowed near the cabins or campsites for safety reasons, and please respect the privacy of groups that have reserved in the park.

At the first light, turn left, stay in the left lane and follow the parking sign, cross the bridge over the Columbia River. Go south on Wenatchee Avenue (Wenatchede) and follow signs to Squilchuck Rd. At the hotel, on the corner of Wenchee Ave and Squillchucks Rd, south of the parking lot, cross a bridge into the park.
