About Lake Sammamish State Park

Lake Sammamish State Park is the largest freshwater lake in Washington State and the second largest in the United States. For centuries, the area around the lake has been one of North America's most popular tourist destinations for its natural beauty and scenic beauty.

The park offers a variety of deciduous forests and wetland vegetation that will delight visitors. The park is home to large blue herons and salmon from Issaquah Creek, as well as a large number of birds of prey. Another feature is the abundance of salmon - which carry streams and rivers in the park, such as Lake Sammamish.

With over 1.5 million visitors a year, the park has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in Washington State.

The area around Lake Sammamish was once a gathering place for Indian tribes, and recently coal has been mined in the area and shipped to Seattle by train. Potlatch, a winter festival, celebrates the return of the tribes to the lake, where they hunted and gathered berries in preparation for winter. The word "Samantha" comes from the Indian Samena, which means "hunter" and "samm" in English.

Kayak rental is available in summer, and kayak rental is also available in the Lake Sammamish State Park Visitor Center in the winter months.

Most other services are available in the park and it is located in the Sammamish State Park Visitor Center on the north side of the lake. The park has a 40-foot dock and there is a 1,500-square-foot parking lot located on the west side of the lake, north of Sammamish National Park. There is a 3.5 hectare beach with picnic area, a 4 km long hiking trail and a beehive with picnic tables, picnic chairs, waterfalls, benches and benches.

An annual pass can be purchased at the park, as well as a day pass for $5 per person or $10 per day for a family of four. Parking for cars, trucks, vans and overturned trailers is available in the parks and bees are available.
