About Greenbrier State Forest

The Greenbrier State Forest is located southeast of the Virginia border and offers beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. For outdoor recreation, it offers scenic views of densely wooded terrain, as well as a variety of hiking trails and trails for hiking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing and other outdoor activities.

Holidaymakers in the Greenbrier State Forest can choose from a variety of cabins, each with their own unique features and amenities. Each cabin has a wood-burning fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious living room and dining area.

Cots can be reserved in advance to avoid handling fees, or rented at no extra cost. Greenbrier State Forest cabins open on the second Friday in April and close on October 31. Check-in is at 4pm and isbe at 10am, and check-out times are at 8am and 10pm.

Pets are not allowed in the cabins or cabin areas, but Greenbrier State Forest offers a variety of outdoor activities including hiking, camping, fishing, mountain biking and hiking.

The central bathhouse offers hot showers and toilets for guests, and water is available in a central location. Each unit has its own shower and toilet, and access to a hot water tank and hot tub. Firewood and ice are available to the caretakers on duty, as well as water, food, clothing, blankets and other necessities.
