The park has a wide selection of picnic areas, picnic tables and benches, as well as a number of other amenities. Within walking distance is a standard gazebo, which is screened by a ceiling fan, with a picnic table and seating for up to 10 people.

A gift shop in the visitor centre offers gift items, storage equipment and snacks. Interpretative programs in the park include guided kayaking, canoeing, hiking, camping and a variety of interpretative activities.

Fishermen and nature lovers will enjoy Lake Charles, which is 645 hectares (1,045 acres) of water from the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. The lake offers a variety of recreational activities such as fishing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, camping and fishing.

Along the way, you can see wildlife such as birds and butterflies, and wildflowers and wildlife habitats change weekly during the season. The Blossoming Path, a 2.8 kilometre path through the park that changes weekly in colour and habitat during the seasons, as well as the number of plant and animal species.

The Cedar Trail is an asphalt path that runs along part of the shores of Lake Charles and can be reached from picnic areas and campsites. The trail offers a variety of scenic views as well as a number of wildlife habitats. Enjoy a walk along the path, but remember that the plants and animals in the park are protected, so please do not disturb.

The path winds through the nature reserve and remains open to the public, so please do nothing but take photos and leave nothing like footprints. Wear sturdy shoes and carry drinking water and water bottles for drinking and cooking in warm weather.
