The main source is two underground watercourses that produce 14 million gallons of water daily.

Visitors can hike on the self-guided nature trails and learn about the local ecology and wildlife. Rangers also run seasonal hikes, and visitors can also hike the Ponce de Leon Trail, a 1.5 km self-guided nature trail through the national park.

Picnics are a popular pastime in the park, with barbecues and gazebos available, and fishermen will be able to catch a variety of fish such as tuna, mackerel, shrimp, crabs, crabs and other fish.

Since the mid-1920s, Ponte de Leon Springs State Park has been used for all kinds of social events.

The property was once owned by the Smithgall family, who erected a wooden retaining wall in the spring of 1926 to prevent erosion. The concrete wall was replaced in 1953, but it still exists today as part of the Ponte de Leon Springs State Park.

The terrain consists mainly of rolling hills, floodplains, forests and marshes, followed by a series of rivers and streams, some of which flow into the Ponte de Leon and its tributaries. The headwaters are connected to the main stream that runs through the park on its way to Lake Okeechobee and the Gulf of Mexico.
