About Winchester Lake State Park

Summer is short with warm days and cool, refreshing evenings, but winter in the park is long and cold with a lot of snowfall. Winchester Lake State Park is located in the woods on the border with the USA at the city of Winchester.

Ponderosa pine and Douglas fir trees are the dominant vegetation and the Wolf Education and Research Center is located 1.5 km from the entrance to the park. The animals often spotted in the parks include deer, elk, elk, coyote, wolf, Canada geese, bear, fox and wolf.

The yurts offer a unique camping experience in the park with a variety of possibilities for camping, camping with friends and family or for private use. The domed round tents are set amidst stately conifers on the lakeside and offer views of the lake, the lakeside and the forest.

Each room is equipped with a bunk bed, futon, table and bench and can be cooked on a stove, but there is no heating and there are no electric lights. Be sure to ask for the Deluxe Yurt, which is available for $1,500 per person or $2,000 per year for a family of four.

Come from Labor Day weekend until April 30, reservations can be made from May 1 to October 1.

Amenities include water, electricity and other electricity, which are shared with water from a central location.

Reservations can be made from 1 May to 1 October and from 30 April to 30 September, from 1 July to 30 October.
