About Pomona State Park

Known to northeast Kansas residents as a shady campground with a great family atmosphere, Pomona State Park is located in the city of Pomona, Kansas, about 30 miles east of Wichita. Leisure activities in the park include hiking, camping, picnicking, fishing, canoeing, horseback riding and other activities. The park has a long history as one of the oldest and most popular campgrounds in Kansas.

Lighthouse Bay Marina offers a full range of services to boaters, anglers, skiers and campers. Four boat ramps are available in the park, and the generally calm waters of the lake are popular with bees.
Bing at Southwind Shelter House, and beekeeping at Lighthouse Bay Park, as well as a variety of other activities in and around the park.

Bald eagles visit the lake in winter and are often spotted on the shore and drift in and out of the lakes. Lake Pomona is a popular destination for fishermen and offers a variety of fishing and boating opportunities as well as a range of other activities. The nearby wildlife areas offer highland birds and waterfowl hunting, and the park has a wide range of hiking trails and trails for hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking and other outdoor recreation.

Then go to the North Gate and drive east on K-368 and east on the east side of the road until you pass the parking lot at the south gate of Pomona State Park and west on the west side.

Travel south on K-368 and east on US-75 until you pass the parking lot at the south gate of Pomona State Park and west on the west side of the park and south on US 75 to Lyndon.
