About Saint Bernard State Park

Many campers are considering combining a camping holiday with a touring holiday in the New Orleans area. St. Bernard State Park is a popular destination for visitors who seek a family atmosphere and nature experience or who want to escape from civilization but cannot. Nearby are the Beauregard National Wildlife Refuge, a national park and several other national parks, as well as a number of local parks.

Located directly on the Mississippi River, the park features an artificial lagoon that provides a peaceful, natural environment to relax in. The nature trails in this park are the perfect way to teach children the joy of discovering nature. In St. Bernhard, the forest meets the wetlands, and in 1971 a local family business gave the adjacent land a new name: St. Bernhard State Park. The car parks will close on Saturday, 1 July, at 6.30 pm and on Sunday, 5 June, from 6 am to 7 pm.

St. Bernard State Park is a popular destination for campers looking for scenic views of the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean, as well as excellent fishing. From the swamp, where forest meets swamp, the park also has an improved campsite with water, picnic tables and picnic areas, as well as a picnic area.

A nearby boat ramp provides access to the park from Pontchartrain Lake and a nearby car park.

Find the entrance to Saint Bernard State Park, located on the west side of LA-39 South on Poydras Road, near the intersection with LA 46. Take I-10, turn left onto LA46, go to Violet Poysdra's and turn right onto POYdr as LA 39 South.

The park borders the Poydras Road, LA-39 South, La-46 and LA 39 South, and the Santa Ana River and its tributaries.

Take the north face of LA-46 from the French Quarter southbound to Violet Poydras and turn right at Caernarvon onto LA 39 South. The park is 800 meters to the left and the Santa Ana River and its tributaries to your right.
