About East Fork State Park

The area was occupied by hill farmers, the Adena and Hopewell Indians, and in 1869 two gold mines were operating nearby.

The Old Bethel Church on Elbstraße, not far from the current park office, dates back to 1867 and the site has received a new look in recent years with the construction of the new East Fork State Park. The eastern fork has a number of historical buildings, such as the old church, the church building and some buildings on the east side.

Six RVs (A) are also available for rent and pets are allowed in designated areas of the park as well as in the parking lot and garage.

Water sports lovers will find East Fork Lake very accommodating, and water sports lovers will find it very pleasant. The park offers a variety of outdoor activities such as kayaking, canoeing, fishing, swimming, boating, rafting and more. This beautiful park with its picturesque views of the Great Smoky Mountains is the perfect setting for a fun family getaway.

The Steven Newman Worldwalker Perimeter Trail circles the park and is available to hikers, backpackers and riders. The 12 km long backpacking trail leads through many scenic parks in the area for hikers and backpackers.

There are four primitive campsites along the way, and permits for use are available at the park office, as well as access to a number of other primitive campsites.

Point Pleasant overlooking the Ohio River was the birthplace of President Ulysses S. Grant. Stonelick State Park is located north of East Fork, 727 - 133 and east of Point Pleasant on West Fork.

From the east follow signs to the east for 11 miles, 11 miles east of Point Pleasant on West Fork, 727 - 133, follow signs. Coming from the west, 11 miles east, coming from the west, 10 miles west of Point Pleasant, 8 miles north of Stonelick State Park. Follow the signs east 12 miles south of State Park at the intersection of East Fork and East River.
