About Cleburne State Park

Cleburne State Park is a 528-acre park that includes a spring-fed lake, a stream and a number of hiking trails. The park is located southwest of Fort Worth in Johnson County and was purchased in 1935-36 by the city of Cle Burne and private owners. The park was opened in 1938 and currently hosts about 1,500 visitors a day.

White - hunting of roe deer tails in early spring, covered with white rocky hills, in spring and summer. White-tailed deer, black bears, coyotes, wolves and coyotes are popular fish. Spring bees in and around the park weigh between 1,000 and 2,500 pounds, and trout, salmon, bluefin and whitefish are popular with the fish.

The Comanches used this area as a northwest path to raid farms in the south, and the Indians had two fresh horses who rode a third, but they changed them, one wounded and the other dead. The Cleburne State Park region is one of the most scenic areas in Texas, encompassing a densely wooded area in a mid-level plain and several clear water sources. In this way, they would escape their persecutors, but also their own safety and that of their families.

Eventually, this hidden path was used in 1851 to build Kimbell (now Kim Bell Bend), the first town in Johnson County, and was established on the Chisholm Trail at the intersection of the Brazos River.

The park, which is eight miles north of Kimbell Bend, was also a popular destination for cowboys herding cattle on the Chisholm Trail. North market crowds, along with cattle, sheep, horses and other animals, crossed the Kim Bell Bend and flocked north to the market.

In 1934, the beautiful springs in the valley were recognised as a picturesque park location and a group of local businessmen interested in development secured funding for the construction of a small dam at the northern end of the park. To irrigate the 116 hectare lake and park, the students built a small earth dam, and in 1934 a beautiful spring valley was recognized for its beauty.

In 1936 concession buildings, a boathouse and a bathhouse were built, and in the 1940s more were added. On the walls of the concession building and a number of other buildings, various handmade wood and metal ornaments can be seen.

Campsites, no matter what they may be, Cleburne State Park has a special place for families, and campers enjoy meeting up so much. Motor vehicles and trailers cannot accommodate more than two people, but those who stay in the shelters are located on one of the many campsites, such as the campground, picnic area or picnic table.

The toilets and hot showers are located nearby, and there is a toilet and hot shower in the campsite and picnic area, as well as a shower and toilet in the shelter.

The group camp consists of two tents, one for two people and one for three people. All bed linen and pillows are provided, as well as food, water, clothing, blankets and toiletries.

At the back of the building there is a terrace with a large barbecue and picnic table, and folding tables and chairs can be set up in the dining room and kitchen. Crockery, pots, pans and cutlery are provided; the kitchen is equipped with an oven, hob, gas hob and microwave, microwave and oven.

There is no air conditioning, so the building must be bedridden to heat, and there is air conditioning in the kitchen and dining room, as well as on the terrace and at the picnic table.

This is a wonderful way to spend the day with the family and relax in the cool, clear waters of Lake Cedar. Rent a pedal boat, but boats are not allowed to travel more than 5 miles per hour on the lake, and jet skis are not allowed.

The terrain on the trails is as varied as the hills, and you will experience everything from smooth, flat to fast, steep to steep, fast to smooth and even. It offers a variety of mountain bike opportunities, such as mountain bike trails, cross-country and cross-country skiing, as well as trail running.

The technically demanding forest paths form a whole loop, which provides a challenging ride. The trails will test your skills and stamina, but they are worth your time and worth the time.

Take Highway 67 to South Cleburne, then turn left onto Park Road 21 and the park is three miles on the left. Nearby attractions include Lake of the Ozarks, Great Smoky Mountains National Park and several other state parks.
