About Lake Chelan State Park

Lake Chelan State Park is one of the most scenic lakes in Washington State, covering a total of 1.5 million square miles. The park has an average annual rainfall of 2.6 inches, which is above the average annual rainfall of 11 inches.

The average snowfall limit is 42 cm, and the average annual rainfall is 2.6 inches. Summer tends to be hot and dry, but the coniferous forests around the lake provide a breather from the summer heat in the park and East Washington.

The park is open all year round - for tents and day trips - and large sandy beaches and boat trips attract visitors. Ferries run daily from Lake Chelan State Park to Everett City and other nearby destinations.

The lake is formed by competing glaciers, and the ridge - and - in front - creates a wide lower and narrow upper lake. This back and forth has created the widest, lowest, narrowest and highest lakes.
The name Chelan is a salish (Indian) word that means "lake of blue water," and the Indians used the area as a home and hunting ground for many years. In the park you can see the location of John Stevenson's cabin, as well as the remains of his cabin in the lake.

Stevenson was the first postmaster on the south bank and was born in the village of Chelan, south of the present city of Seattle. He was a member of both the US House of Representatives and the Washington State Legislature.

In the 1880s, Col. John Merriam established a military post on the shores of Lake Chelan, and in 1886 civilian settlers began to settle. In 1902 the town was incorporated as a town with about 1,000 inhabitants and a post office on the southern shore of the lake.

Legend has it that Lake Chelan was used as a lure for a real estate scandal in the 1940s. History suggests that substandard properties were sold to unsuspecting buyers to buy properties on the lake's shores. It is a matter of public record that a company called Babco, Inc., acquired a large amount of property on the shores of the lake and a number of other lakes in Washington state, but the real estate company refused to recognize the defendant's ownership.

The Lake Chelan State Park Board of Trustees and Washington State Department of Natural Resources (WSDOT) report the incident in their annual report to the state legislature.

At the entrance to the park there is a car park, which is also used as a restaurant, and it has a full service concession offering mineral water, packaged snacks, hot dogs and other snacks.

Campers and trailers longer than 30 feet are not allowed to enter or use any of the facilities in the park. The park has 35 fully-fledged utilities, some of which are from older parks and are not designed for modern campers. Some sites have been equipped with new amenities such as water, electricity, sewage and sewage pipes, and new toilets.

One motor - powered electric generators - operates at an output of 1,000 kilowatt hours per hour (kWh) per day. Depending on the water level, the jetboat start is open on weekends from 10: 00 to 18: 30 and from 11: 15, 16: 45 and 19: 40, depending on the water level.

The park has a nearby car park with 28 parking spaces, which is quickly filled at weekends, but has ample parking space in the nearby car parks on weekdays from 10: 00 to 17: 30, and from 11: 15, 16: 45 and 19: 40. Annual passes can be purchased at the park while employees are available, or you can purchase annual passes online at the Lake Chalan State Park website. Parking for cars, trucks, trailers and overturned trailers as well as parking for boats are available in this park. The park has a car park with a total of 12 parking spaces for vehicles.

B berths, docks, swimming and buoy facilities are available in the park, as well as bays and berths for boats, kayaks, canoes and other small boats.

The park is managed with respect for the safety and well-being of its visitors, staff and visitors. The public toilets, showers and changing rooms of the park (first come, first served) are operated by the Lake Chelan State Park Police Department and the Lake Chelan Fire Department.

The park maintains a roadside memorial along the highway, and the parking lot is filled early at weekends, but it is small and cramped. This monument describes an earthquake and landslide that took place many years ago. The force of the quake was so great that the Columbia River was blocked by a landslide for several days.

This monument is located about half a mile east of the park and is located in the center of Lake Chelan State Park, just a few hundred yards from the entrance to the parking lot.

The monument was erected and maintained by the child's family and erected in honour of his mother and father, as well as other family members and friends. The park occupies a special place in the history of Lake Chelan State Park and Southshore Community. On 14 September 1961, a school bus carrying children from the south bank crashed into the park after being hit by a rock that had fallen off the road. The bus driver and several children died in the accident, but not the school superintendent or any of his passengers.

The swing was also the site of a memorial to the victims of the accident and a memorial to the school inspector and his family.
