About Twenty-Five Mile Creek State Park

The park is surrounded by spectacular scenery and separated from the mountains by a lake. To the north, you have a great view of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and to the south, the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The park is best known for its boat accessibility and offers visitors a modern marina, and it is known as one of the best boat destinations in North Carolina, where a wide selection of boats is available.

The park features a waterhole and a nearby ferry takes visitors to nearby Lake Chelan State Park and the Uplake Wilderness section of the park. Boat trips to and from the "Uplakes Wilderness" parts of Lake Chelan are possible within the parks, as are boat trips around the lake.

Lake Chelan was formed by competing glaciers, and the back and forth created a wide lower and narrow upper lake. The back and forth has created the wide, lower, but narrower upper lakes as well as the Uplake Wilderness.

The region has an average annual rainfall of 11 inches, with 39 inches of average annual snowfall. The park is located at an altitude of 3,000 feet above sea level with a difference in altitude of 1,500 feet.

The Indians come here to start their canoe trips on the plateau, and there are fishing spots for them, as well as a number of other activities.

The park was built by Dave Davis and operated as a private resort for many years, and was operated by park staff until 1988. State Parks acquired it in 1972 and continues to operate it under concession agreements with various tenants.

Chelan is 18 km away and offers all the services, restaurants and supplies listed in the area. The park has firewood, ice and basic supplies, which are seasonal, but the boat fuel is seasonal.

Twenty - Five Mile Creek is an old campsite with lots of small campsites, but the park has behaved very well in recent years, with no major water quality or safety issues.

Access for large recreational vehicles is limited, and the maximum length of a site may be less than 30 feet due to limited availability.

Shady campsites are located on the west side of the park, in a wooded area next to the stream.

Each campsite, separated by a quiet green area, can accommodate a group of up to 50 people, with fees varying according to the size of the group. RV parks can be booked during the day or at night, at least three days in advance and a maximum of four days in advance.

Two boat ramps are available, and a motor-powered electric generator can be operated from the park's boat ramp on the east side of the creek, which costs $5 an hour. Check-in is 14: 30, check-out is 13: 00 and quiet hours Are 22: 00 - 06: 30. If you stay at one of these campsites for more than four days in a row, you must make a reservation in advance, otherwise the length of your stay will be extended.
