About Yakima Sportsmen State Park

Yakima Sportsman State Park is a 247-hectare camping park established by the Yakima Sportsman's Association to promote game management and conservation of natural resources.

The park is located in the floodplains of the Yamhill River and has deciduous trees - shady camping and picnic areas. The park has identified over 1,400 bird species and is home to more than 1,000 species of mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians.

The pond attracts fishermen from the other side of the river, but also visitors from the Yakima Valley and other parts of the state and beyond.

The park is a popular place to stay and a great place to camp, fish, hike, kayak and do other activities. The pond, lake and river attract young and adult fishermen from all over the region, but also visitors from other parts of the country.

More than 140 species of birds make wildlife watching a pleasure, and there are campsites for kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hiking, bird watching and other activities.

The park is located in the flooded Yakima River, in a region that covers an average of 3,000 square kilometers per year. The region has more than 1.5 million acres of land and is home to the largest concentration of wildlife in Washington state.

Summer temperatures range from 80 to 90 degrees, winter temperatures from -20 to -30 degrees, with temperatures in the 60s and 70s. In 1940, the park was founded by a hunting, fishing and shooting club, and in 1956 the association donated it to Washington State Park.

Some of the oldest clay pigeon traps are still found in this park, as are the remains of old clay pigeons from the early 20th century.

There are no firewood or parking fees, but the park is located in the greater Yakima area, where a service is available. The park has access to a large number of hiking trails, fishing and hunting trails and offers a wide range of outdoor activities such as hiking, camping and fishing.

Page 1 - 16 is 60 feet long, page HC is on ADA's usage page, Page 17 - 36 is a back-of-construction site, and page 52 is on ADA Default page. The stream is located at the southern end of the park, east of location 1 and west of location 52.

The park is open all year round for tents and day, and the park's campsites can be booked for longer stays if you stay for more than two weeks or less than a week in the summer months.

Check-in is 13: 00 and check-out 14: 30, with quiet hours from 22: 00 to 06: 30. A motor-powered electric generator can operate up to 12 hours a day, seven days a week, at a cost of $5 an hour.

The park has a variety of picnic areas, from covered picnic tables and benches to picnic chairs, tables and benches and a picnic table.

A kitchen and unprotected picnic tables can accommodate up to 200 guests and can be reserved. Information is available by phone at 509-575-2774 or by e-mail at info @ akimasportsmen.org.

Hiking is allowed on two kilometers of dirt roads and dikes, and rangers can conduct nature walks on request. The park has a short paved ADA path and a pedestrian bridge that leads to the wetlands, which are home to a wide variety of plants, animals, birds and other wildlife, as well as a large number of birds. This path allows visitors to see vibrant, functioning wetlands and a ranger can take a nature walk if desired.

The ponds and lakes are filled with fish, and during the season adult fishing in the river is allowed, but juvenile fishing is allowed all year round.

The hotel is located on the west side of the park at the intersection of Keys Rd. Turn left and walk approximately one mile to the entrance to this park, or walk approximately two miles east on Keys Road and then left to continue one mile west on Keys Road, then right on Keys Blvd to reach the hotel.
