About Shine Tidelands State Park

Shine Tidelands State Park is a 13-acre seasonal park that covers a total of 1.5 acres in the southern part of the state. Kayaking and windsurfing are popular on the beach, but at high tide there is hardly a beach accessible to visitors.

The park's property was formerly the Wolfe property, named after the original owners Elmer and Sophia Wolfe. Shine Tidelands became part of the State Park System in 1967 and part of the State Park System in 1971.

Most services are available within a few miles of the park, but there is no tent connection at the Kitsap Memorial, which is 8 miles away.

The park allows primitive hands - at the introduction to personal watercraft and offers four unprotected picnic tables to serve those who come first and are served.

Fire is permitted on the beach and on the grounds of the park, but not on the beaches or in the parks. Fire on beaches and in parks is not permitted, just as fire near beaches or plots of land in parks or on land is not permitted.

The regulations of the Department of Fish and Wildlife apply to all parks, but please read the regulations of the publication on the collection of shellfish.

From Seattle, take the Seattle - Bainbridge Island ferry to Bain Bridge Island, follow the signs to Shine Tidelands and follow this highway. The hotel is located on the west side of the park, north of Seattle and south of the Bain Bridge.
