The meadow basin has two paths, one on the east side of the basin and one on the west side. The path leads through trees and meadows that open up to the pool, then into the forest and at the end of this path back to a hiking trail.

A series of gentle switchbacks will take hikers to the top of the mountain, which was burned in the Buck Creek fire earlier this century. This meadow path is one of the most beautiful wilderness near Glacier Peak and has a great view of Mt. Baker - Mount Baker in the Snoqualmie National Forest, making it one of my favorite hiking trails. Once you reach the crest of Lost Creek, the trail turns into a Flame Trail - a horseback trail overlooking Glacier Lake and the Cascade Mountains to the east.

The trail continues through the timberline to Stujack Pass and offers a great view of Mt. Baker - Mount Baker and Glacier Lake in the west.

This rarely used path leads to the grounds of an old fire station, but magnificent views of the alpine meadows are worthwhile. Numerous switchbacks make for a tough climb that ends on the Pacific Crest Trail, but it's worth it.
